Growing Your Business Through Innovation And TradeWould you like free advice on developing a new product or service? Or perhaps you’d welcome some help on doing business overseas?

If so, you should be interested to learn about the Enterprise Europe Network and the local team offering information and advice to firms throughout Yorkshire & the Humber.

The European Commission, which coordinates and co-funds the Enterprise Europe Network, claims that it is the biggest business support network in the world. It’s certainly true that the Network is now represented in over 65 countries worldwide and involves over 600 local partners.
Here in England, the Network is also supported by the UK Government’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, which means that the local team can help access the funding and services offered by this agency too.

To help your business expand overseas, the Yorkshire & Humber advisors can facilitate contacts with partners overseas, to explore commercial and technical cooperation such as distribution or agency agreements, joint ventures or licence agreements.

The Network has a database which generally has around 9000 “live” cooperation opportunities at any one time. Companies can search this database via the Network’s website and the local team will help put them in touch with any potential partners of interest. Advisors can also help companies explore other ways to enter new markets or find technology or research partners, including submitting their own company profile to the database.

In addition, the Enterprise Europe Network runs B2B “matchmaking” events alongside key trade shows and exhibitions around the world and the Yorkshire & Humber team can help local companies take part in these events and arrange meetings with exhibitors and other visitors alike, thus maximising the value of their visit.

The help on offer does not stop there: the local team can also help with information about local standards or regulatory requirements abroad and offer access to public sector contract opportunities here in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

And – if you’re keen to become more innovative – the Network can also offer support to boost your capacity to manage innovation in your firm and / or help you explore funding opportunities for new product, service or process development and R&D, both in the UK and in Europe.

And the good news? All this help is free for small & medium sized businesses in Yorkshire & Humber!
