Leeds Networking Event With Irwin Mitchell on January 19th 2017

The Yorkshire Enterprise Network (YEN) have announced their first business networking event of 2017. The session will be hosted by YEN strategic partners Irwin Mitchell, who will hold the event at their Leeds office on Wellington Place.

Protecting Your Business: The Brand, People And Data

Irwin Mitchell's specialist lawyers will present an informative and interactive session on Protecting your Business: your Brand, People and Data.

We will look at these from a practical point of view such as what privacy policies and fair processing notices need to look like under the new legislation and consider what the impact of Brexit will be. We will also discuss recent guidance from the ICO and the approach of the UK Courts.

The event will start at 8:30am with breakfast, before the speakers and Q&A session at 9:00am. This will be followed by a session of networking until 11:00am.

When he was Transport Secretary, new boy at the despatch box, Philip Hammond stated that the UK’s railways had become a “rich man’s toy”. Shadow Transport Secretary Andy McDonald said; “Passengers have faced truely staggering fare rises over £2,000 since 2010. In some cases, commuters are paying 43 percent as a direct consequence of decisions made by ministers.”

For rail travellers in Yorkshire the cost of a season ticket could almost double in some cases with the cost of a season ticket between Leeds and York increasing from £1,756 to £2,232.

Poll: Will The Process To Trigger Article 50 (Britain's Exit From The EU) Be Started in 2017? | January 2017

Research Poll: Will The Process To Trigger Article 50 Be Started in 2017?

Back in October 2016, UK Prime Minister Theresa May stated that the UK will begin the formal Brexit negotiation process by the end of March 2017. The timing on triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty means the UK looks set to leave the EU by summer 2019.

Considering that we’re only a few months away from the promised trigger date, do you think the process to activate Article 50 will be begin in March 2017?
