8:00 am - 9:30 am

Event Location
Digital Catapult Centre, Yorkshire

Information security continues to be a hot topic of discussion for businesses including the almost daily reports of data breaches.

Each company and industry varies in the type of information it has but for manufacturers with complex supply chains this tends to be intellectual property on patents, designs and formulas. However, personal data relating to staff and contractors and also contact databases for marketing purposes are also key areas of personal information.

On 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect, potentially creating significant impacts for businesses. Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire invites all types of manufacturers to this breakfast event to discuss all things GDPR and some basics around cyber security for businesses. At the end of the event, each attendee will receive a resource pack, highlighting sources of guidance and advice on topics covered in the session. There will also be an opportunity at the end to ask the speakers questions and network with attendees.

Topics include:
• GDPR – An overview and how the regulation will impact businesses
• Threats and solutions, in particular cyber threats associated with becoming increasingly internet enabled through IoT devices.
• Risks across supply chain
• Cybercrime and financial impact
• Threats and impact on critical business processes
