The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is a trade agreement currently under negotiation between the EU and the United States. If completed, it’ll break down regulatory barriers and tariffs between America and the EU, forming the world’s largest trade bloc.
Now that Britain has decided to leave the EU, we will no longer be included in the TTIP negotiations and won’t be a part of the deal when finished. Outside the EU, Britain will have to agree its own deal with both the US and Europe. We can offer your business expert legal support, making sure that you’re fully prepared for the potential consequences of the UK not being part of TTIP.
By removing trade tariffs, TTIP is supposed to reduce the regulatory burden on businesses that export to the US, so it could have had a great benefit for many British SMEs wishing to expand. The Government believes that TTIP would have contributed an extra £10bn to the British economy every year.
Our lawyers can advise you on the implications that leaving the EU could have on your business. We can help you plan for the future and position yourself to make the most of the post-Brexit commercial landscape.
