Popular Joint Course With IOR Starts In January
Following a successful first year since its launch, Irwin Mitchell and the Institute of Recruiters (IOR) have announced that they are to run their innovative joint HR course again from January 2017.
The qualification is designed to help professionals or those seeking a career in HR to further develop their practical skills and knowledge in human resources.
Regulated by Ofqual and backed by high profile entrepreneur, James Caan, the Level 3 Certificate (Foundation Level) in Principles of Human Resources is delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online sessions across seven months.
Each individual unit of the course is led by employment law experts at Irwin Mitchell and leading HR practitioners. Participants can either enrol for the full course or select individual modules in which they would like to be involved.
The face-to-face units of the course are be delivered from Irwin Mitchell’s offices and cover subjects such as ‘introduction to employment legislation’, ‘understanding employers’ rights’, and ‘principles of employee motivation and commitment’.
In its first year, the course has attracted a range of organisations, including representatives from street furniture manufacturers, Wybone, haulage company Brian Yeardley Continental, CB&I, Shaw Group UK Limited and West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Leah Gill from Wybone, said: “I selected to study a Level 3 HR Qualification, in order to provide me with an introduction into HR theory and practice. The course provided the additional benefit of giving me a recognised qualification. The qualification has already helped me in my professional work as I have put a lot of what I learnt into practice with positive results. All in all a great course, where I learnt so much in a relatively short space of time.”
Sarah Hopper, Quality and Marketing Director at Brian Yeardley Continental Ltd, said: “I was particularly impressed with the trainers’ commercial approach to the whole experience. They are able to relate the topics to real world practical examples, explaining them fully and clearly. The structure of the course makes learning enjoyable whilst stretching you at the same time and promotes continued development outside of the course itself. Great value for money and well worth the investment.”
“This qualification has been designed to ensure that anyone with HR responsibilities or is interested in HR, receive a comprehensive, practical and up-to-date overview of the key employment law issues which they are likely to encounter.
“We have been delighted with the success of the course so far and very pleased with the calibre of organisations enrolling their staff onto it. We are looking forward to running the course again this year and building on its success and popularity.”Padma Tadi,Associate
