I am Bradford through and through, it’s where I was born, raised and still live now with my wife and two kids. I was lucky that as I was ready to leave school, we had a Labour government. I was the first person in my family to go to university and because of that opportunity I was able to train as a barrister. I use that training every day as a councillor doing casework and it will stand me in good stead when it comes to developing and scrutinising legislation. Growing up here, I know how great our communities are and how much local people care about our area, but I also know the challenges and problems too.

I’m a local man who has spent my life trying to change our communities for the better. That's why I’m standing to be your MP for Bradford and nowhere else. I hope you will give me the chance to represent our Party, neighbours and city.

I’ve been a Labour Party member for nearly 25 years and have been active in our city for over thirty. I know a lot of people will focus on the fact that I’m Harry’s widow, but I’ve done a lot in my own right. I hope you’ll take a couple of minutes to read about my experience and why I think I’ll make a good MP for Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough.

My politics were forged growing up in a steel family here in Sheffield. From the age of 16 I went out to work because back then staying on in education wasn't something working class lasses like me did - we went to work and earned a wage or got married and stayed at home with the kids. I live in the same constituency now that I started me working life in. My politics were forged in Sheffield, by Sheffield.

Serving as a District Councillor has been an invaluable experience for Paula. Her proudest achievement was the successful campaign to restore Pontefract Hospital’s 24-hour A&E. Also as Chair of a local Business Forum, Paula has a track record of delivering infrastructure improvements and promoting town centre regeneration.

Paula is committed to representing constituents, and giving them a strong voice both in Westminster and in the local area – she is a strong opponent of MP’s having second jobs and, as your Labour MP, Paula will be 100% dedicated to working for the people of Dewsbury, Mirfield, Kirkburton and Denby Dale.

Edward Samuel "Ed" Miliband (born 24 December 1969) is a British Labour Party politician, currently the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster North since 2005 and served in the Cabinet from 2007 to 2010 under Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Miliband applied for selection to be the Labour candidate in the safe Labour seat and won, beating off a close challenge from Michael Dugher.

On becoming Leader of the Labour Party on 25 September 2010, Miliband also became Leader of the Opposition. At 40, he was the youngest Labour Leader ever.

During this time he set up and led Arq International, a leader in its field of executive recruiting, based in London and Singapore and working across Europe, Asia and the United States. Since his 2010 election Julian has focused on business issues, national security, rural issues and international development concerns. He has also been closely involved in bringing the Tour de France Grand Depart to the UK. Until May 2015 Julian was also a member of the advisory board of the London-based think tank, Reform.

In May 2015, Julian was re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, nearly doubling his majority and receiving the support of over half of those who voted. Julian also joined the Government as a Minister in the Whips’ Office. A key aspect of this role will be ensuring that the Government follows through with its manifesto commitments. By convention, Whips do not speak in the House of Commons. However, he will continue to fight for Skipton and Ripon and speak up for our community in his meetings with Ministers and behind the scenes.
